About the Role

As a Caregiver with Home Instead in Cobourg, Ontario, you’ll be part of a team dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and their families. Your primary role will involve providing personalized one-on-one care, assisting with daily living activities, and fostering meaningful relationships with our clients. Caregivers enjoy extended visits with clients (typically 4-12 hours) to ensure quality care and minimize travel between shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• Companionship & Engagement: Building trust and offering emotional support through genuine relationships.
• Assistance with Daily Living: Helping with tasks like bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Medication Reminders: Ensuring clients adhere to prescribed schedules.
• Light Housekeeping: Keeping homes clean and organized.
• Errands and Transportation: Driving clients to appointments or assisting with errands (mileage compensated at $0.70/km).

Requirements

• A valid Canadian G2 or G driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Availability for part-time or full-time hours, including weekends and overnights.
• Previous caregiving experience is an asset but not required—we provide thorough training!
